On Saturday the Maryville Christian Eagles baseball team traveled to Bell Buckle, TN to take on The Webb School in their first contest of the year. The baseball team ended up defeating The Webb Feet by a score of seven to five.
Multiple Eagles had big performances. Sophomore Ben Paddock finished the day with 2 hits and an RBI, and Senior Jackson DeBusk picked up the victory on the mound with 3 stellar innings as the Eagles clawed back after being down five to one to get their first win of the new campaign. When asked about the victory, Co-Head coach Griffin Tate had this to say, “The boys came out and showed incredible resiliency today. We got punched in the mouth early and we were able to stop the bleeding and give our offense a chance to get to work. Really proud of their effort today!”
The Eagles will have a little break before they return to action on March 2nd versus Eagleton.
