MCS Update | Oct. 13


Important Dates: Here are some important dates over the next couple of months.

  • Oct 14: Fall Play at the Clayton Center (7 PM)

  • Oct 19: PK-5th grade abbreviated day

  • Oct 19: Night of Worship featuring the MCS 6th-12th grade Choirs (6:30 PM at First Baptist Maryville)

  • Oct 19: 9th-12th grade Bonfire at MCS (8 PM-11 PM)

  • Oct 20: NO SCHOOL for Parent/Teacher Conferences

  • Nov 4: Fall Festival sponsored by Eagle Force (at MCS from 12-3 PM)

  • Nov 9: Purple & White Game and Upper School Tailgate (5-8 PM)

  • Nov 10: NO SCHOOL for Veterans Day

  • Nov 16-18: 7th -12th All East Choir at Lee University

  • Nov 20-24: NO SCHOOL for Thanksgiving Break.

  • Dec 2: Spring Play auditions (MCS Gym at 9 AM)

  • Dec 4: Choir/Band Christmas Concert (6:30 PM)

  • Dec 15: Homecoming Games and Festivities (starts at 6 PM)


Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent/Teacher conferences will be on October 19th (Lower School Only) and 20th (Upper and Lower School). To schedule an appointment, please call the school office. Because of the conferences, our school schedule will be affected:


October 19 - Early Dismissal for PK-5th only

- 11:00: PK-K

- 11:30: 1st-5th

* There will be no lunch for PK-5th grades or aftercare.

October 20 - No School


Fall Play: The MCS Creative Arts department is proud to bring you "The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” on Saturday, October 14, at the Haslam Flexible Theater at the Clayton Center for the Arts. It is going to be a great show and is already SOLD OUT!


9th-12th Grade Bonfire: There will be a bonfire for 9th-12th grade students only (no visitors, friends, or guests) on Thursday, October 19th from 8-11 pm. The bonfire will be held at MCS in the empty field between the baseball and soccer fields. There will be a time of worship, devotional, and a great time of fun and fellowship. Students must be picked up no later than 11 PM.


Students have been asked to RSVP for the event. The cost is $5 per student (cash). If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Holden.


Due to Parent/Teacher Conferences, there is no school on Friday, October 20th.


Thanksgiving Break: While this is still a few weeks away, we want to remind you that MCS is closed the entire week of Thanksgiving. There will be no school on November 20-24.
